First Internet Based Contest for Music Performers

The Managing Committee of MuseON, the First Internet Based Contest for Music Performers, announces MuseON-2006!

MuseON-2006 starts on September the 1st. The Contest’s new web-site is pleasing to the eye, with a new fresh design and updated technology giving more opportunities for both musicians and fans.

The MuseON Contest held for the first time in the first half of 2005 enjoyed a highly positive reception by professionals in the music industry and gave many talented musicians the chance to present their works and make a major step ahead in their showbiz careers. More than two thousand participants from all over Russia and its neighbouring countries took part in MuseON 2005. The Contest was judged by the most prominent professionals in show business including Yuriy Aksuta, Artur Baido, Evgeniy Boldin, Alexander Kushnir, Alexey Muskatin, Oleg Nepomnyashchiy, Oleg Nesterov, Evgeniy Safronov, and Kurt Rasmussen, a producer from Norway. The team of judges was headed by Artemiy Troitskiy. Compared to the previous year the schedule has been changed slightly. Anyone wanting to participate can register and send their tracks from the 1st of September 2005. The final of the Contest will take place in the spring of 2006. The contest’s web site has also undergone some changes: a brand new, positive design, a more convenient structure, and a lot of interesting and useful information for both musicians and fans.

At present the following showbiz professionals have confirmed their willingness to join the team of judges: Gennady Bachinskiy, MAXIMUM Radio General Producer; Alexander Kushnir, Kusnir Production Music and Information Agency General Director, Music Critic, Producer; Alexei Muscatin, Producer; Oleg Nesterov, Snegiri Music Record Label Director, Musician, Author and Producer; Evgeniy Safronov, Intermedia Information Agency Director and Chief Editor. The team of judges will again be headed by Artemiy Troitskiy.

The MuseON Contest has been organized by the Fast Forward Music producer centre with the intention of changing the current state of affairs in which show business is currently closed to the vast majority of talented performers. Using the unlimited capabilities of the Internet we erase the borders and distances between cities and people giving every musician the chance to be heard irrespective of where they live or their financial means.

The technology we are using enables performers living in any region of Russia to take part in the Contest. Our web site www.museon.ru provides complete information on the conditions for participating in the contest, the Managing Committee members, the Council of Experts and Judges and, guidelines for selecting records. The main difference between the MuseON contest and other music contests is its complete transparency to everybody. Demo recordings are accepted in electronic format. A full list of the recordings submitted to the contest and their ranking in the rating list can be viewed online.

The Contest’s winners will receive prizes provided by Fast Forwarded Music and the Contest’s Sponsors. In 2005 these included not only substantial material rewards but the chance to record in a professional studio, release a single, get support from leading specialized web portals, and make a video clip. But the main reward for the Contest winners was the attention and professional evaluation given them by music producers, top managers of record labels, professional musicians and other specialists who kept their eyes on the MuseON Contest. And of course there is the public attention, which is the thing most desired by every musician. Thanks to the MuseON Contest all this is made available to little known but talented musicians living in the various regions of Russia and the CIS countries.
